Getting girls together for a night of fun is a great way for them to bond. If you are needing help with planning, this blog is a great place to start! Here you will find party ideas, tips, products and links to make putting your party together a SNAP!

This theme is great for Birthdays, Summertime Escapes or just for fun!

Make a List and a Budget

When planning a Sleepover, it's important to plan for the guests you will have, activities you will do and make sure you stay in budget.

As the host, you want to make sure you can handle everything, so make a list.

Here is a sample:

* Get Sleepover invitations and send them 2-3 weeks in advance. Keep your guests between 8-10 girls. Give them a list of items they need to bring.
* Get Sleepover themed Party Supplies (link provided)
* Make a list of Activities to do that are age appropriate. Here are some samples:
Have a Movie Night, Have a Spa Night, Have a Beauty Show, Have a Glow Party
* Buy Makeup, Nail Polish, Spa items (if applicable)
* Find Movies and Games that are age appropriate (they are staying up all night)
It's a good idea to start shopping for the items you need for your party in advance to help you keep in budget. You can find girl makeup and nail polish for a reasonable price and put them in cute Themed Boxes or Purses to give to your guests as they arrive.

Decide on a Theme

Because your guests are staying the night, have plenty of activities, games and movies on hand to keep them entertained.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Have a Scavenger Hunt

* Make a list of items and hide them throughout the house.
* Divide the girls into 2 groups and give them a time limit to find their list items.
* When the time is up, have the girls come back and with their items they have to give a makeover to a girl you pick from each group. You can make up the rule like the prettiest, funniest etc. Give them a time limit for this task as well.
* Pick the winner of the group and give them all some fun party favors.

Have a Beauty Show:

* Buy some roller paper to make a Catwalk
* Find clothes, shoes, hats etc. that you can use to have the girls dress up. Resale shops or items from older siblings would do the trick.
* Have the girls dress up or you can have a team to dress them up, do their hair and makeup. (This would be good for a small group of girls)
* Play some fun music and let the girls walk down the Catwalk!
* Take Pictures of them for a keepsake.

Have a Spa Party
* Buy items for manicures and pedicures, you can find items at the dollar store or other discount stores.
* Grab some helpers
* If you have bean bags, put them in a semi-circle or you can use chairs.
* Play music and have snacks and drinks
* Give them the Spa Treatment!

How to Throw a Glow Party for Kids

"Blackout" Parties are all the rage, turn out the lights and turn on the FUN!
Here is some information about Glow, how you can use it and the kinds of Glow Products there are so you can put together a fun and safe party the kids will LOVE!

What is Glow?
Glow products are made from non-toxic chemicals called "glow juice" that can lasts from 4-10 hours, (I have put glow in my freezer and it can continue to glow even after a week!) depending on the party, you can buy economical glow that lasts 2-4 hours or premium glow products that will glow 8+ hours and can sit on the shelf for 2 years, if you want to use it later in the year.

I would like to recommend not buying glow for kids younger than 5, just because they might try to open it, or chew on it. Like I said, it is safe, but I think it's best for older kids and adults.

The other thing I want to mention is in the case the "glow juice" comes out, it can stain your clothes and will light up whatever it lands on, so you need to clean the area as soon as possible, if it gets in your eyes, flush it with water, it will sting like soap.

I hope I don't scare you into NOT buying glow, but I felt I needed to cover these things because I get alot of questions about it. Glow can be alot of fun, but like anything, if you misuse it, you might get hurt!

So what kinds of Glow is there?

Glow products come in all shapes and sizes from your basic bracelet to glow cutlery, (yes, it is safe to eat with), glow fingernails, glow glasses and more. All of these products can be used to make a fun party for kids.
Add some Glow Cups & Cultery

No Glow Party would be complete without having Glowing Cups! These are made of durable plastic and glow for 8+ hours. They are perfectly safe and easy to use, just press the sides where you see the color until they release the "juice", then shake and they are ready to use. They glow one time.

Are you having a Birthday Party? There are Glow Ice Cream Cups and Spoons that will light up your kids eyes. These are also easy to use and are safe for kids 5 and up.

Looking for a cup you can reuse? There are eco friendly Glow Glasses that use a glow stick as the stem. You can by replacement 4" glow sticks making this item re usable! I would recommend this if you like to throw alot of parties because it's amore cost effective cup.

I have literally had people jerk their hands back from the LED bulb thinking that they are going to get burned! The Jar Candles come in Vanilla and Ocean scents, look just like a Jar Candle has a natural flicker and uses AA Batteries. They come in either frosted glass or clear glass with a wood lid.
